In-home sessions are also the right choice for those owners that are experiencing behaviour issues with their dogs such as:

We also have experience helping families make a safe and smooth transition when bringing a new baby into a home with a dog (or dogs) or bringing a new dog or puppy into a home with children.

"Puppy Preschool" in-home session 

This valuable consultation is for puppies that are too young for puppy class (prior to 2nd set of shots). A puppy's early developmental time table is very rapid and this time is extremely important. During this stage puppies are like sponges, soaking up information and developing habits - both good and bad. Beginning the puppy's education early on will ensure a smoother transition from the litter to your home and will make for a happier and more well-adjusted puppy. 

The session covers:

• Housetraining
• Rules and Boundaries
• What is socialization and how to do it effectively
• Bite inhibition (reducing the frequency and force of mouthing and biting)
• Social structure and leadership
• Beginner Obedience

The Dynamite Dog Puppy Basics program is for puppies from approximately 10 to 20 weeks of age (puppy must have 2nd set of shots). Classes are 75 minutes in length and puppies can begin at any point in the 6 week program.  Each individual class involves group exercises, play time, "potty breaks" and ample one on one time with the trainer to address any specific needs for your puppy. The program will cover all the important aspects of a puppy's early development such as socialization, bite inhibition (mouthing, biting, etc.), house training, self control, chewing, basic obedience and general manners. Throughout the program there is discussion and insight provided on canine behaviour, pack structure and leadership.

A major benefit of the Dynamite Dog Puppy Program is that you will gain the understanding and knowledge necessary to raise a puppy that is a well-adjusted and welcome member of the family and the community. The classes are fun and up-beat and they provide a solid foundation of skills to set your pup on track to becoming a Dynamite Dog; a dog that is healthy, happy and obedient.

This comprehensive program is ideal for both the beginner and for those that just need to "brush up" on their skills. Classes are 75 minutes in length with a maximum of six dogs per session. Each class consists of some general theory and demonstrations as well as exercises and games to practice each specific skill. Training is based on positive reinforcement techniques balanced with practical, humane methods for correcting unwanted behaviour.

One great benefit of this program is that it will empower you with the tools and knowledge necessary to have a better understanding of your dog so that you can be the best trainer for your dog that you can be. The classes are informative and fun and will serve to strengthen the bond between you and your dog; putting your dog on track to becoming a Dynamite Dog, a dog that is healthy, happy and obedient.

Level 2 Obedience is designed for those dogs / handlers that have a good understanding of the basics. Completion of DD Obedience Level 1 (or a comparable program) is a prerequisite and dogs must be capable of working with distractions and working outdoors. Equipment required includes a long line (30' minimum), a motivating toy for play rewards and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn and work hard.

Material covered in this program includes distance training, working with distractions, off leash work, tricks, fine tuning skills and much more. We continue developing our leadership skills and our techniques for curbing and eliminating unwanted behaviours.

You and your dog will benefit tremendously from the bonding and trust that develops with this level of training and ultimately your dog can live a fuller, more enriched life as a result of the increased privileges you are able to grant him.
