About Us

Lee Poizer has always had a natural ability for connecting with dogs and his passion and enthusiasm is reflected in his training. Lee has been training dogs professionally and helping dogs with behaviour problems since 2002. Over the years he has worked with thousands of dogs while spending time studying canine behaviour, how dogs learn and observing how dogs interact. Lee continues to develop his skills and knowledge by attending conferences and seminars featuring some of the most prominent and well-respected experts in the field of behaviour and training. Lee is also a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers.

Lee also works for Canada Post as a Letter Carrier and consultant. Unfortunately, dog bites and attacks are a real threat to delivery personnel, and Lee is involved in the campaign to promote a safe working environment by raising awareness.  Half the battle is educating the work force on basic canine behaviour and body language, and ensuring that everyone knows what to do in threatening situations. The other is ensuring the public is aware of the responsibilities they face in ensuring their yards are safe and that their dogs are properly socialized.

Lee has also written articles for the parenting magazines Urban Baby and Bambino on the topics of safely bringing a new baby into a home with a dog and on how to choose the right dog for your family. Lee has also volunteered time for the "Reading with Rover" program - a program geared towards improving the reading ability and confidence in children through reading sessions with dogs.

Lee lives in Burnaby with his wife, two children (ages 5 and 7), their 12 year old Golden Retriever and, the newest member of the family - a 6 month old kitten.
